How many hours do you work each week?

International students in Japan are allowed to work up to 28 hours per week.
If you have two or more part-time jobs, the total working hours from all jobs combined must not exceed 28 hours per week. Overtime is also included in this limit.
During long school holidays, such as the summer vacation, you may work up to 40 hours per week.

If you work even one minute longer than the permitted limit, it is considered a violation.
If you violate this rule, your residence status may be revoked, and you could be required to leave Japan.
